School Supplies
« on: 08/10/2014 05:57 PM »

Well it's that time of year again, back to school!

Went with our only kid left in high school for some shopping, she got her supplies

I figured since we were shopping I'd get myself some too

Mine just started Pre-K, so not bad yet.  But next year, I am dreading the asinine list of things we need to buy....made me think of the commercial where the list had like 300 glass marbles :lmao:

That's because other kids can't afford glue sticks.  So you are subsidizing their education through schools supplies.  Right or wrong, that is what is happening.

x2 My girlfriend was saying last night that when she lived in Texas, they bought all of the school supplies the first year and when the boy got to school, found out that they collected everything from everyone and then redistributed the collected supplies evenly among the students.

The cashier at Publix asked me if I wanted to donate $5 for school supplies for kids the other day. :-0

I said, "hell no, I am not buying someone else's kids school supplies, I did it for the past  20 years with my own kids and I didn't ask anyone else to buy them for me".....

If you're too poor to afford school supplies you're too poor to have kids!

Hmmm, starting to sound like Ken,,,, does that make me a Curmudgeon?  :?:
