I enjoyed this cigar very much. Of all ISOM’s I’ve had this is by far the best and even blew the few Cohibas I have had out of the water. This cigar was, in fact, so good that I feel it may have been ... Read More

This was an excellent cigar, an instant classic! The age on it has really done it justice, and makes me want it to go on for much longer. I have not had very many Vegas Robaina cigars in the past, but... Read More

All in all this is a good cigar. The construction is great and the flavors are decent throughout. The shape is a bit gimmicky, but that is fine as long as the construction and flavors are there. An... Read More

Hatuey Special Reserve Double Corona 1 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 03:24 AM
Was looking for delivery of cigars from a shorter delivery distance. This Nevada distributor looked promising. Sight 5 of 10 Veins and unevenness Touch 4 of 10 bumpy and uneven Smell Pre Burn 4 of 10 Mostly air smell. Taste 1 of 10 Burnt Rubber, Foul taste in the first lighting which continued through the parts I could stomach. Impossible to continue smoking. I had several cigars and was unwilling to experiment. Took a hit and composted the rest in the garden. I am rounding down in this case because I was unable to finish the cigar.
Pinar del Rio Small Batch Reserve Habano Toro 3.5 Star Rating s+j 08/12/2014 03:18 AM
Started off spicy and a bit harsh, then wood entered the picture followed right after by leather, and then black pepper took over -- mind you, all this happened within the first two thirds of an inch, over a 15 minute period. The wet wrapper at the head added an interesting counterpoint with a sour note. At the beginning of the second third I then got some notes of earth and faint barnyard. It then gained more strength and hiked up the nicotine a notch past the midpoint while dropping most of the flavor. The wood then returned at the end of the second third, and the spice at the end of the last third. I smoked this slowly taking 4+ minute breaks at a time, and it lasted me for over 90 minutes. An outstanding medium-to-full budget smoke overall. 88+ points
Alec Bradley American Classic Blend Toro 3 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 03:07 AM
I smoked several over the course of six months. Overall Rating 3 of 5. There are a lot of 3 out of 5 cigars on the market and this one is consistently week in the taste profile for me. Sight 6/10 Big Veins, Wrapper unraveled in middle. Touch 7/0 Bumps and uneven Smell Pre burn 4/10 Some tobacco but nothing distinct Taste 5/10 Mild, weak taste, no lasting flavor. Construction 8/0 Really good Ash, that defied gravity. One light and this cigar burned evenly. This was a suprise give the bumpiness of the cigar. Construction brought up the rating of this cigar. The taste profile was mild. This is not a cigar I will buy again.
Cusano 18 Corojo Dominicano Robusto 3.5 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 02:57 AM
Had 5 of these in my humidor and smoke them all. Average rating 3 to 3.5 The Cusano 19 is broad line of cigars. Cigar Afficiondo rated one of these a 90. It is hard to discern why the cigar got a 90 based on what this cigar represents. Sight 8 of 10 though some of the cigars outer wrappers cracked with aging. Touch: Some wrappers were good others veined and almost all of the sticks were uneven. Smell: The per burn foot smell was 5 of 10 nothing fantastic, at least you knew you were going to smoke tobacco. Taste was better than the smell indicated in this case. This was true in every case with this cigar. The taste was sweet to begin with and then graduated to nutty. 8 of 10 Construction was 7 of 10 The uneven wrapping and poor wrapper selection leads to uneven burns and short ash. The taste and construction lift this marginal cigar into a decent rating. The taste and construction rating are consistent across several cigars. This ok but not sure I would buy this one again.
Cu-Avana Intensus (Intenso) Churchill 1.5 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 02:45 AM
Aged in Humidor for 180 days. No help. The pre burn smell was 3 of 10. The first cigar without aging wreaked of chemicals aromas and taste. It was impossible to smoke. Aging 6 months rid the cigars of the chemical aroma and taste but left them with next to no taste at all. The pre burn foot smell offered no clue as to the cigars smoking taste. This earned them a 4 of 10 rating The sight and touch of this cigar is poor. Very bumpy and lots of deep veins. This cigar has a band on the tip of the cigar besides the ring band. Very annoying. This is a brown maduro, not black. Poorly constructed, poor burn, and weak to bland flavor profile. Wont get these again.
Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Lancero 4.5 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 02:35 AM
This is my go to cigar. I have many ratings of this cigar and they average 4.6. Consistency is the watch word with this cigar. Complex favors, that change as you smoke down the cigar. Sight: 9 of 10 Well done outer wrapper, Dark and mellow Touch: 9 of 10 Even smooth Smell: 9 of 10 You can smell the richness of this cigar. The potential flavors are evident in the aroma. Taste: 9 of 10 Beginning sweets, coco then nuts or oak to earthy toast. Very well balanced and smooth flavors. I have purchase some of the high rated cigars and this one is by far the best taste profile for the money. Consistency cigar to cigar. The box is expensive but you are getting 36 sticks. That can last quite a while.
Cigars International CI Legends Series Puros Indios - Green 1 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 02:22 AM
These cigars are NOT good. The price makes them very tempting but the taste is soooooo disappointing. You realize you got suckered. Sight 4 of 10 Outer wrapper is poor quality and veiny Touch 4 of 10 Bumpy, uneven leads to poor draw and inconsistence smoke. Smell of pre burn Foot : 2 of 10 Difficult to smell anything with this cigar. Taste: Did I taste mint on the tip of this cigar? Artificial flavors on my natural cigar, this ain;t some soft drink you are messing with. No flipping way. 2 of 10 on taste. Artificial flavors on cigars is a killer for me. Construction 4 of 10. The uneven construction and lots of air make this cigar work, cause I have to keep messing with it to keep it burning. These are not a good deal in the long run.
Cigars International CI Legends Series AJ Fernandez - Olive 1.5 Star Rating Clintvava 08/12/2014 02:12 AM
This was a gift from Cigar International Sight: 4 of 10 The Wrapper was highly veined. Touch: 4 of 10 Big Veins gets you lots of bumps and unevenness Smell Pre burn smell of the foot. Next to no aroma at all. 3 of 10 Taste: 2 of 10 Burning Air, Nothing at all for me Way too light Construction 4 of 10 Sideways burn, uneven draw, several relights. These are rated by the company as medium-full. These are a mild intro cigar and have a very low price point. I'd steer clear of these cigars. Even for a newbie. There are other 3 buck cigars that have more taste profile.
